Texans Upset Browns in Wild Card Weekend

Texans advance to Divisional Round with 45-14 win

Stroud leads offense to victory

In a stunning upset, the Houston Texans defeated the Cleveland Browns 45-14 in the Super Wild Card Weekend showdown on Saturday. The Texans, who entered the game as underdogs, dominated from start to finish, advancing to the AFC Divisional Round for the first time since 2019.

Texans quarterback Kyle Stroud led the charge for Houston, throwing for 375 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Dameon Pierce added 120 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The Texans defense also played a key role in the victory, holding the Browns to just 271 yards of offense.

The Browns, who were making their first playoff appearance since 2020, were unable to keep up with the Texans' high-powered offense. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked five times and threw two interceptions. Running back Nick Chubb was limited to just 65 yards on 15 carries.

The Texans will now face the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round next weekend. The Browns, meanwhile, will head home after a disappointing playoff exit.
