SOS Balkanroute Wins Court Battle with Austrian Agency
NGO's Lawsuits Dismissed by Vienna Commercial Court
Explanation of Verdict Provided in Writing
Vienna, Austria - After being acquitted in July, SOS Balkanroute and its founder Petar Rosandic have received a written verdict explaining why they won their court battle with the Austrian agency.
SOS Balkanroute is a Vienna-based human rights and humanitarian aid organization that focuses on raising awareness about the plight of refugees on the Balkan route.
The lawsuits against the NGO and Rosandić were dismissed at the Vienna Commercial Court on Tuesday evening. The court ruled that the word "Guantanamo," which the agency had accused the NGO of using to defame it, was not used in a defamatory manner.
